KATSUYA is more of a high end sushi restaurant. The decor at night is impeccable, with dimmed lights and people chatting over dinner. The hostess walked us to our table and greeted us and she chanted ‘”Irasshaimase” (It is an expression to welcome the guest and showing with respect). Our waiter was very kind and attentive to what we wanted.
We started off with Katsuya Ceviche, it was a mini sampler. It was refreshing, with a mixture of medley tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and whitefish tossed with cilantro, red onion, sliced tomatoes, and jalapeños in their own Ceviche sauce. Next appetizer we ordered were the Kara ‘age Lollipop Chicken Wings; well you had me at lollipops!
The chicken was seasoned to perfection, topped with cucumber sunomono, served with an chipotle aoili sauce; very scrumdiddlyumptious! Onto the main course, I chose the Yakisoba Noodles – Wild Mushrooms and Japanese Style Beef. The beef was very tender and the vegetables still had a crunch to them- just the way I like it! The 2nd main entree we ordered was the WAGYU SKIRT STEAK- Japanese Chimichurri and Garlic Chips. The steak was tender and had lots of flavor. As if our night couldn’t get any better. We ordered the Homemade Donuts; Warm Fresh Made Donuts, covered in a Passion
Fruit Caramel, topped with Sea Salt and Coconut-the best combination of SWEET&salty, thee best EVER! Onto the next dessert! Growing up I’ve always love eating Mochi Ice Cream (Japanese ice cream) so of course I automatically order it without any hesitation. The round dessert ball consist of a soft, pounded sticky rice cake with two assorted icecream- Green Tea and Vanilla. Overall my dining experience at KATSUYA was remarkably scrumdiddlyumptious! I will be back again.
